What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the cannabinoid family that naturally occurs in the cannabis plant. It also naturally occurs in your body's endocannabinoid system. Scientists have isolated 108 different types of cannabinoids in cannabis.

Does CBD have psychoactive effects?

No, CBD does not have psychoactive side effects because the compound does not bind to the receptors in the brain. Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is best-known as the psychoactive property in cannabis that makes you feel “high”. People refer to cannabis plants as either hemp or marijuana, depending on their level of THC. CBD contains 0.3% THC or less because it comes from hemp plants.

How Does it work?

All cannabinoids, including CBD, produce effects in the body by attaching to certain receptors.

The human body produces certain cannabinoids on its own. It also has two receptors for cannabinoids, called the CB1 receptors and CB2 receptors.

CB1 receptors are present throughout the body, but many are in the brain.

The CB1 receptors in the brain deal with coordination and movement, pain, emotions and mood regulation, cognitive thinking, appetite, memories, and other functions.

CB2 receptors are more common in the immune system. They effect inflammation and pain.

Medicine vs CBD

Medicine is designed to alleviate one symptom instead of working with body to solve the problem. Medicine has various side affects that cause other aliments and problems in your body. New medicine will be needed to counteract new symptoms.

CBD works by bringing balance to your entire physiological system. It promotes total homeostasis in the body helping the following systems to restore:

 -The Central Nervous System

 -Immune System

 -Endocrine

 -Oxidation
